Letter of the Week- Review A-D
Oct
Last week was a review week for us and we reviewed the letters A, B, C and D.

Each day we did one of these to review a letter. I saved the letters from a project we did during the week when Hailey first learned the letter. And I printed out pictures and words that started with that particular letter.

Hailey working on her letter A page.

The finished letter A page.

Hailey working on her letter B page.

Running out of glue working on the letter C page.

Hailey working on the letter D page.

My mom bought these fun letter shaped cookie cutters for Hailey. So, we used them for several projects. For this one- we used the letters, paint and paper.

Hailey dipped the letters into the paint and then stamped them onto the paper. (And also ate some, as you can see from the green around her mouth.)

We used the cookie cutters to cut out playdough.

And then, of course, we made cookies. Hailey is dumping the sugar into our bowl.

And sampling some of the cookie dough (I only let her do this BEFORE I added the eggs. Do not let your child sample cookie dough with raw eggs in it.)

The finished A, B, C, D cookies.
Be sure to come back everyday when I will post our activities about our theme this month (fall), our color, shape and number (orange, triangles and 3) and our Bible theme (Noah).

Tot School- Week In Review
Oct
I actually should have posted this last week because it is a review of what we did the week of Sept 30th. But we went out of town for Hailey’s 2nd birthday last weekend and I never got around to doing it. Since we were out of town for part of the week and enjoying the nice weather since we’ve been home we didn’t really do Tot School this week. So, this review is a week late. Anyways- onto what we did.
Our letter of the week was the letter C. You can see everything we did, as well as directions for all of our letter C activities at Letter of the Week- Letter C.

Hailey covered a large C with cotton.

We made chocolate chip cookies.

I formed the cookies into the letter C. If you do this- I would recommend using sugar cookies instead of chocolate chips cookies. The dough was really sticky and it was hard to form the cookies into the letter C.
Our theme for the week was apples. You can see more details and directions for what we did by going to Apples.

We started out with a trip to go apple picking.

Later we made our own apple tree. Hailey is painting the base for our tree.

The finished apple tree.

Hailey practiced spelling her name on apple shaped cards.
Our number of the week was two, our shape was a circle and our color was red. See more details and directions for what we did at Fun With Numbers, Shapes and Colors.

Hailey painted the number 2 using a scrub brush. Later we cut the 2 out, glued it onto a piece of construction paper, added the word “two” and put two stickers on it. It hangs on our number wall.

Hailey painted some bubble wrap red, then pressed a piece of paper on top of the bubble wrap.

Here is the finished bubble wrap print- some red circles.
For our Bible story we did days 4 and 5 of creation. You can see all the details by going to Creation Days 4 and 5.

Here is our Day 4 picture- God created the sun, moon and stars.

Hailey is working on the day 5 picture here- God created fish and birds.

Tot School- Week in Review
Sep
Another week of Tot School has finished up and it’s time to share what we did with the other participants over at 1+1+1=1. Keep in mind that this is really just a review of what we did all week. If you want to see more details about any of the projects you can click on the links I will provide to see more information.
Our letter this week was the letter B and you can see all of our letter B activities as well as more details about these projects by going to Letter of the Week- Letter B.
We made a Bumble Bee out of the letter B.
Our finished Letter B- which hangs on our fridge all week. At the end of the week it goes to the letter wall in Hailey’s playroom.
We did this painting using a golf ball- which combined our themes for color (red), shape (circle) and letter (B for ball). It will be a while before we do this kind of project again. It doesn’t work all that well using a golf ball- Hailey just ends up frustrated. But she’s too young to use marbles, so we’re just going to wait (a long time) before we do this again.
Our theme last week was All About Me- you can see everything we did by going to All About Me.
We made a really cute All About Me book- this is the cover of it before Hailey colored it. There is a page with Hailey’s picture on it, one with her family, one of her favorite animals, favorite foods, favorite color, one with the colors she knows, one with the letters she knows, one with her hand-prints, etc. It turned out really nice so I covered it in contact paper so that it will last forever.
Hailey sorted Mr. Potato Head’s body parts.
Our number was still the number one and our shape was still the circle. You can see all of our number and shape activities by going to Number One and Circles.
I wrote the number 1 on post-it notes and stuck them all over. Hailey loved finding the number 1’s.

We made a circle sun catcher using contact paper and circle shaped tissue paper.
Our finished circle sun catcher.
For our Bible theme we are still doing the days of creation. This week did day 3- which you can see more of by going to Story of Creation- Day 3.
During our outside time we collected various pieces of nature that God made on day 3- sticks and leaves from trees, some grass and some flowers. Then we put them in between 2 pieces of contact paper and hung it on the fridge.
We wrapped up learning about Day 3 by making a picture to add to our pictures of days 1 and 2.
Finished Day 3- God created the land with grass, trees and flowers.

Week One In Review
Sep
I have joined the Tot School group over at 1+1+1=1 where every week everyone does a post about what they did in Tot School during the week before. Since I technically post about what we do every day, this is just going to be a review of what I already posted about earlier this week. If you want more details about any of the activities I am sharing you can just click on the links I will provide to see the details.
So, what did we do last week?
Our letter of the week was A and we did several projects- you can see all of them by clicking here.

We made this letter A by dipping an Apple into red paint and stamping it onto the A.

We made this fun Ant.
We also played a hide the letter A game where I hid felt letter A’s all over our living room for Hailey to find. And we made a letter A book and played letter A games on the Star Fall website.
Our theme for the week was All About Me- so we traced Hailey’s body and then decorated and labeled it. You can see my All About Me post here.
Our number was the number one. Hailey sponge painted the number one. Once it was dry I put it onto a different colored piece of construction paper, wrote the word “one” on it and we added one sticker.
Our shape was the circle and I gave Hailey a variety of circle shaped items to stamp into the paint and onto her paper.
We made a red discovery bottle for our color using red food coloring, water and glitter.
Hailey also made a collage of all red items on red paper.
If you want to see more details about our number, shape and color the post for that is here.
We are doing the story of creation for our Bible theme this month so last week we did the first two days. Here Hailey is making day one (God created day and night) by gluing white construction paper onto the top and black construction paper onto the bottom of a piece of card stock.

Here Hailey is working on day 2 (God created sky and water) by gluing blue tissue paper onto the bottom and cotton onto the top of a piece of card stock.
You can see my whole post about creation here.
So, there you have a brief review of our first official week of Tot School. Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other moms have been up to while trying to keep their tots busy.
