Preschool- Letter E
May
Apparently, I didn’t take very many pictures of our letter E activities because I don’t have a lot to share. So, here are some of the activities we did for the letter E.
Hunter practiced his cutting by cutting apart some elephants.
Hunter eats scrambled eggs for breakfast every day so I cut his eggs into an E shape.
He made this “E is for earth” craft. First he colored a coffee filter with blue and green, then we sprayed water on it so that the colors would run together.
I made these cute chocolate eggs. I just melted some white chocolate, then put a yellow M&M in the middle.
Hunter glued eyes on the letter E.
Hailey hid some plastic eggs in our backyard and Hunter did an egg hunt and found all of the eggs.
We only have letter R left to complete Hunter’s name. Then we will take a break from letters until we start back to school in the fall. Our focus this summer will be on reading lots of books and doing activities related to what we are reading.
(All letter E printables are from Confessions of a Homeschooler and 1+1+1=1.)
Tot School
Nov
Hunter is 23 months old
We had another fun week at Tot School!
We are learning all about spiders and we even caught a spider to observe. Hunter really liked watching the spider!
Color sorting with M&Ms onto different colored spiders.
I asked Hunter, “Where is the blue one?” and he pointed in his mouth because he had just eaten a blue M&M 🙂
Hunter loved searching through rice for some plastic spiders.
We sang a little spider song. We sang it to the tune of 10 little Indians:
Crawl, crawl, crawl like a spider.
Crawl, crawl, crawl like a spider.
Crawl, crawl, crawl like a spider.
Crawl around your web.
We used different words in place of crawl like pounce, jump, etc.
You can see some of the other spider fun we had by clicking on the picture above.
Hunter enjoyed some sensory bags this week- this one had shaving cream in it.
He also played with a sensory bag with shampoo in it.
E was our letter this week- we were making an elephant and didn’t have any gray paper, so Hunter colored the paper.
Making the E craft
E is for Elephant
Hunter played with his letter magnets and sang the ABCs
We added the letter E to our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree.
We have been learning about Thanksgiving and this week we learned about the Sioux Indians and made tee-pees. Hunter worked a long time coloring his tee-pee.
Hailey and Hunter’s finished tee-pees.
Hunter likes to do whatever Hailey is doing, so he worked on coloring a picture just like she was doing.

Letter of the Week- Review
Sep
This week we are reviewing letters E, F, G and H. So I don’t have a new letter to share. Instead I am going to share the activities we have done for all of the letters so far. I will include links to the original posts. Many of our letter of the week crafts come from No Time for Flashcards.
Letter of the Week- Letter E
Apr
Our Letter last week was E. Here are some of things we did:
Hailey looked through the various letter E crafts at No Times for Flashcards and decided she wanted to do the Easter Egg E.
Then we made this super cute E is for Elephant using Hailey’s handprint that I saw at Homeschool Creations.
Here is what we did from RRSP:
Hailey showing off her verse that she colored. She can do such a nice job coloring when she takes her time.
Cutting out her vocabulary words.
Practicing writing E.
Hailey loves using her verse to measure. This weeks verse was short so it was much shorter than her- she always has to check and see if she is taller than her verse. She thought it was great that she couldn’t even get it around her head.
Doing her cut and paste craft. We practiced positional words with this activity.
Other stuff we did:
This was an Easter Egg letter match up that I found at 2 Teaching Mommies. While Hailey did this match up she told me the letter sounds too. There are only a few letters left that she doesn’t know the sounds for, meaning we won’t be doing a letter of the week for much longer.
We made a shape book that is from one of my Mailbox magazines. Hailey colored the pages.
I put it together and then Hailey had to flip the top and bottom to match the shapes. This held her interest for about 10 seconds. Which is not nearly as long as it took me to put it together.
We did a Springtime ABC file folder using printables from 1+1+1=1.
The inside of the folder- Hailey had to match the upper and lowercase letters and stick them onto the velcro inside.
The back of the folder, where she can keep all of the letters.
Here is a fill in the number printable from Busy Bee Kids Prinables.
Lastly, I decided to start a journal with Hailey last Monday. I asked her what her favorite thing was that she had done over the weekend. She gave me her answer, I wrote it down and she copied it into her journal. Then she drew a picture to go with it.
She was so proud of her journal. She asked almost everyday to write in it again. She loved it!
