Polar Express Party

24
Dec

Last week was full of fun preparations for Christmas!  Thursday and Friday were all about The Polar Express.

Polar Express Party

I used painter’s tape to make a railroad track on the floor.  We used some cardboard boxes from some of my online shopping to build a train.

Polar Express Party

Hunter and Hailey sitting in the train.

Thursday we did a variety of learning activities after we read The Polar Express.  We finished up all of our work so that Friday could just be a party day 🙂

Polar Express Crafts

For art on Thursday we made these great trains.

On Friday we went to school in our pajamas 🙂

We started out the day with some fun activities.

Polar Express Party

Hunter and Hailey made some snow globes.

Polar Express Party

Hailey decided to make her snowman look like Olaf from Frozen.  They turned out cute.

Polar Express Party

Then they made a little graham cracker train.

Polar Express Party

It only lasted a few minutes before they started eating it 🙂

Then it was movie time!  Hunter and Hailey took their seats in our train.

Polar Express Party

I punched their tickets

Polar Express Party

They also had little jingle bells, which we could all hear 😉

Polar Express Party

Then I passed out hot chocolate and popcorn while they watched the movie.  It was a super fun day!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!

Tot School

22
Dec

Hunter is 24 months old.

We had a really busy week.  I was trying to get a lot of stuff wrapped up with homeschooling before our Christmas vacation.  It seems that I didn’t take many pictures but I will share the ones I do have.

Tot School

We have been working on a really fun gingerbread man unit and we finished up the unit by making our own gingerbread men.  I cheated and bought them pre-made, so we just had to decorate them.  Hunter definitely ate more candy than he put on 🙂

Our Crafts N Things

We also made some playdough, cut it into a Christmas tree shape and then used the pieces from our Lite Bright to decorate the tree.

Tot School

We worked some more on our nativity scene.

Tot School

All done- we love how it turned out!

Tot School

We finally made a star for the tree in our classroom.

Tot School

Thursday and Friday were all about The Polar Express.  After we read the book together, Hunter sat down to read it himself.

Polar Express Crafts

Hunter made a train out of different shapes.

On Friday we had a Polar Express party, which I hope to be posting about soon.

Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other tots were up to this week.

Bee Crafty Kids- Polar Express Crafts

20
Dec

Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back and Look! We’re Learning.

Polar Express Crafts

We had a great time making some Polar Express trains this week.

Polar Express Crafts

Hunter made a train using different shapes.  He also sprinkled glitter on his paper.  While that was not exactly planned (ha!) it looked like falling snow.

Polar Express Crafts

Hunter’s finished train.

Polar Express Crafts

Hailey used oil pastels to draw a train.

Polar Express Crafts

She colored it in using Christmas colors.

Polar Express Crafts

Hailey’s finished train.  She also sprinkled glitter on her paper to look like snow.  She didn’t use glue, she just sprinkled it on and it looks great.
