Valentine Doily Painting and More
Feb
Hailey made a cute doily painting for Valentine’s Day. I taped (using a very small amount of tape) a heart shaped doily to a piece of paper. Then Hailey sponge painted on top of the doily.
Another bigger doily and more sponge painting.
Here is what the first one looked like when it was done.
Then I cut them out and glued them together for a pretty Valentine’s Day decoration.
Hailey made a heart counting poster.
Here is it hanging up in her playroom.
The following 3 printables are from the Valentine’s Day Unit at Musings of Me:
Hailey did her first graph using candy hearts.
Here is her completed graph. We counted all the hearts and talked about most/least.
Hailey practiced her cutting skills.
And practiced her color words.
Letter of the Week- Letter U
Jul
Sorry that we disappeared all week! We were enjoying family from out of town at the beginning of the week and then on Wednesday we finally had our closing for our new house- so we’ve been a bit busy! We probably won’t be around a whole lot next week either while we get settled in. But we did have time to do one activity this week- our letter of the week was the letter U. I showed Hailey some choices for a craft we could do and she picked to make the Unicorn U that we saw at No Time for Flash Cards.

Here’s what you’ll need: a U and a horse shape in a color of your choice, a horn for the unicorn, another piece of construction paper, paint, glue and something to paint with. We used silver glitter paint- it dries very sparkly looking.

Paint the letter U.

Paint the horse. (By the way- my mom drew this horse for us since I have no artistic ability! Thanks mom!)

Glue everything together- and here is your Unicorn U.
Letter of the Week- Letter S
Jun
Our letter this week is the letter S, so I showed Hailey a couple of choices over at No Time for Flash Cards and let her pick what she wanted to do. She decided she wanted to make a Star S.

Here’s what you’ll need: an S, some stars, paint, glitter, glue, something to paint with, bowls and construction paper.

Hailey used the silver glitter paint to paint the black construction paper.

Then I mixed some glitter in with the yellow paint.

Hailey used the yellow glitter paint to paint the stars…

… and the letter S.

After the stars were dry I cut them out.

Hailey glued the S and the stars onto the black construction paper.

Our finished Star S.
It's a Plane!
Mar
We have been learning all about transportation and today we made an airplane.

Here’s what you’ll need: toilet paper roll, paint, something to paint with, small pieces of cardboard for the wings and (not pictured) black construction paper. Cut slits in the toilet paper roll and insert the wings.

Paint your airplane.

Add some windows by cutting little circles from the black construction paper. I had Hailey just stick them to the wet paint so we could skip the whole gluing step.

Fly the airplane. (Please excuse the mess in the background.)
