Preschool Weekly Wrap Up- Letter S
Apr
Back in January we had the letter S for our letter of the week. I didn’t take many pictures of the activities we did, and since it’s been a while, I don’t really remember much :-/
So, here are the few pictures I did take:
Hunter and Harper both made discovery bottles that looked like a snowstorm.
Hailey, Hunter, and Harper all made a snowstorm painting. They dipped shower puffs into white paint and stamped it onto some paper.
Hunter had fun playing with his bristle blocks.
Just because they are too cute 😉
Hunter put snowflake stickers onto the letter S.
I assume it was a fun week, but it’s been too long for me to actually remember hahaha
Tot School
May
Hunter is 28 months old.
It was another fun filled, busy week at Tot School.
Letter S activities:
(Printables for the letter S are from 1+1+1=1 and Confessions of a Homeschooler.)
We always start out our week with Hunter coloring a paper for his letter of the week. He has even started asking to do this.
He loves doing the do-a-dot printables for the letter too. He is getting much better at dotting the letter rather than just putting random dots all over the paper.
We lined up some pom-poms on the letter S. Hunter didn’t want me to take anymore pictures on this day 🙂
Stamping the letters has become one of his favorite activities. He asks to do this almost every day.
We added the letter S to our Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom tree.
Hunter painted an S and some stars.
S is for Stars.
(I mixed the glitter into the paint rather than sprinkling it on and there was no glitter mess.)
Circles:
Hailey and Hunter had fun blowing bubbles- and noticing that they are circles.
Hunter put some circle shaped paper onto a contact paper shaped circle.
I turned it into a circle sun catcher.
He glued different colored circles onto a circle.
We made a “circle man.”
Sensory:
Hunter requested eggs for his sensory bin this week.
Other:
Hunter working on a clay dish for Mother’s Day. I helped him shape the clay into a little bowl. Then he added beads and sequence while the clay was still wet. Once it was dry he painted it using water colors.
Hailey and Hunter’s finished bowls.
Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other tots were up to this week.

Letter of the Week- Letter S
Sep
Our letter this week is the letter S, so I showed Hailey a couple of choices over at No Time for Flash Cards and let her pick what she wanted to do. She decided she wanted to make a Star S.
Here’s what you’ll need: an S, some stars, paint, glitter, glue, something to paint with, bowls and construction paper.
Hailey used the silver glitter paint to paint the black construction paper.
Then I mixed some glitter in with the yellow paint.
Hailey used the yellow glitter paint to paint the stars…
… and the letter S.
After the stars were dry I cut them out.
Hailey glued the S and the stars onto the black construction paper.
Our finished Star S.
Letter of the Week- Letter S
Jan
We’re back!! I haven’t done a new post in so long. Hailey is starting to have a letter of the week in her UPK class and I am going to do activities at home to go along with her letter of the week. So, I want to post those as we do them. Here are a few of the Letter S activities we did:
Hailey had a sheet of pictures with words that started with the letter S. She colored the pictures and then cut them out. Then she glued them on to individual index cards and we turned it into a Letter S book.
Then we made a Letter S Seahorse that I saw over at No Time for Flashcards– first Hailey painted it using water colors.
Then she decorated some shapes and glued them onto the Seahorse.
The finished Letter S Seahorse.
Hailey used her Do-a-Dot markers to make this letter S. You can get the downloads for every letter of the alphabet over at Confessions of a Homeschooler.
We also played this Alphabet Game that I found at Confessions of a Homeschooler. You have to roll the die and then move your person to the letter. Then you say the letter you landed on, the sound it makes and something that starts with that letter. Hailey loved it!
