These weeks need to stop flying by so quickly, it seems like I just did a Tot School post, but here I am again doing another one. This week we started a new color- orange, and continued our space theme.
Hunter checking out his orange sensory bin.
He wanted to wear this orange hat.
He kept his hat on and practiced throwing the football into a bowl.
This is Hunter working on making a moon rock. You can see the full post here, to see how we made them.
Our completed moon rocks, which I think turned out really great! Hunter has enjoyed playing with his rock all week. It didn’t hold up too well when he put it in his water table, but the water certainly looked nice and glittery.
We also made paper bag aliens. Hunter loved using the do-a-dot markers to decorate his.

We also made UFOs. (Full post here.)

Hunter was sick again this week so we didn’t do a whole lot of Tot School. We did still manage to do a few activities. We finished up the color yellow this week and also stared a space theme.
Hunter is constantly taking my aluminum foil out of the cupboard, so I decided to just give him a piece to play with to see if that would satisfy his curiosity.
Hunter played with some cooked spaghetti- this didn’t keep his attention for very long. At first he didn’t want to touch it and when he finally did he only played with it for a few minutes.
He also used the spaghetti to paint with. This was definitely more interesting to him. He loves to paint!
For our space theme Hunter made a rocket ship using his name.
It turned out really cute, you can see the full post here.
We made a really fun sun- Hunter loved it!!
I love how the suns turned out!! You can see the full post here.
We also took a little trip to the moon 🙂 and brought back some moon sand that Hunter enjoyed playing with. You can see the full post for that here.

We had another fun week! We are still focusing on the color yellow and Earth Day.
We dyed some rice yellow. I used food coloring mixed with a little vinegar and mixed it up in a ziploc bag with some help from Hunter. The rice looked mostly orange though and I didn’t have enough to cover all of the rice:-( I added some yellow water color and that turned the rest of the rice yellow.
We ended up with an interesting colorful mixture.
I decided that rice is an outdoor activity so Hunter enjoyed playing with it on the deck.
We also made a yellow discovery bottle. You can’t really tell from the picture, but there’s lots of stuff in there- and as long as it makes noise Hunter loves it. So I made sure we included yellow beads so it would rattle when he shook it. Hunter put everything in the bottle- he did really good putting each piece in, his fine motor skills have improved a lot.
Success- he loved it!
We made a paper plate earth for Earth Day… you can see the whole post here.
We also made a vase and flowers using recycled materials.
This was the finished project, mostly done by Hailey but Hunter did help make the flowers. You can see the whole post here.
Check out my Earth Day Pinterest board for more ideas for Earth Day.
Other stuff we did:
It was finally warm enough for Hunter to play in his water table… he loves it!
Hunter does a great job with puzzles and they keep his attention for a long time.
He was a helpful little boy and mowed the lawn for daddy.
He had so much fun playing with bubbles 🙂 I love this picture!
Hunter enjoyed playing in some shaving cream 🙂
