A Blustery Day
Mar
We’ve been talking about weather this week and how the weather in March can be like a lion or a lamb. We talked about how windy the weather can be sometimes. I saw a pinwheel over at Preschool Playbook and decided we should make it to help Hailey understand wind.
First you need a square piece of paper. Put an X through the piece of paper. In the middle, I drew a circle around a nickel.
Then Hailey colored both sides of the piece of paper. After she finished coloring, I cut on the lines, stopping at the edge of the circle. Next you have to bend every other corner towards the middle of the paper.
When you have the four pieces in the middle, take a straight pin and push it through all four pieces. Then push the pin into the eraser on an unsharpened pencil.
Hailey loved her pinwheel!
Out Like a Lamb
Mar
Yesterday I posted our lion that Hailey made since March came in like a lion. Since we can only assume that March will be going out like a lamb, Hailey made a lamb.
You’ll need a black oval for the face (I used chalk to draw a mouth), 2 small ovals for ears, 2 google eyes, and 1 pink triangle for a nose. You’ll also need a paper plate, cotton and glue.
Hailey put the face of her lamb together.
Then she glued the face onto the paper plate.
Next she added some cotton.
The finished lamb.
In Like a Lion?
Mar
Our theme this week is weather in March. I explained to Hailey that the weather in March can be referred to as a lion or a lamb and we talked about examples of each kind of weather. We decided that we were definitely in the middle of some lion like weather and made a lion for our craft.
You’ll need a paper plate and some tissue paper or construction paper. I didn’t have any brown tissue paper, so that is construction paper but the yellow and orange are tissue paper. Hailey started out making a pattern around her plate (this will be the mane).
Then she decided she just wanted to add a bunch of pieces.
You’ll need these pieces for the lion’s face- a yellow diamond for the head, 2 yellow circles for ears, an orange triangle for the nose, black rectangles for whiskers and wiggle eyes.
Hailey putting the face together.
Then she glued the face onto the plate.
The finished lion.

I started using Raising Rock Stars Preschool curriculum a few weeks ago and Hailey has been doing great with it! Here are some of our RRSP activities for the letter K.
We start our week out with the memory verse. Hailey enjoyed coloring it.
Hailey cut out her letter K vocabulary words.
This was the first week we used the power point part of RRSP and Hailey loved it!! Here she is pointing to her sight word for the week- “your.”
Hailey practicing writing her the letter K.
Hailey working on her craft to go along with her verse.
Other things we did:
Hailey enjoyed her playdough mat using a printable from Homeschool Creations.
She did the letter K activities on Starfall.
Hailey colored and cut out letter K vocabulary words and turned them into a letter K book.
And here is a little math work in one of her Disney workbooks.
