Cookie Cutter Painting
Feb
We did another really simple painting project for our Valentine’s Day theme.
Here’s what you’ll need: paint, paper plates, paper and some Valentine’s Day cookie cutters.
Spread the paint thinly onto the paper plates and dip the cookie cutters into the paint.
Stamp onto the paper.
Hailey’s finished piece of art.
Cobre Valley Casserole
Feb
I tried this new recipe last night and we all ate it up and enjoyed it. Even Hailey didn’t fight me and said she liked it. So, I thought I should share it.
Cobre Valley Casserole:
INGREDIENTS
1 pound ground beef
1 celery rib, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
1/4 cup water
2 (16 ounce) cans refried beans
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 green onions, sliced
1 large tomato – peeled, seeded and chopped
1/3 cup pitted ripe olives, chopped
1 1/2 cups crushed tortilla chips
DIRECTIONS
In a large skillet, cook beef, celery and onion until meat is browned; drain. Stir in taco mix, water, beans and green chilies if desired; mix well. Pour into a 2-1/2-qt. baking dish. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until heated through. Top with cheese, green onions, tomato, olives and chips.
Heart Sponge Painting
Feb
This craft is so simple, but definitely one of Hailey’s favorite things to do. While she does love our activities that are more directed by me, she really loves when she can just do whatever she wants. I try to remember to do a lot of crafts where she can just be creative and we don’t have to worry about following directions.
Here’s what you’ll need: paper, paint, a heart shaped sponge and a paper plate.
Spread the paint thinly on the paper plate and enjoy sponge painting.
The end result.
Letter of the Week- Letter I
Feb
This week we are focusing on the letter I. For our art project we made an Ice Cream Cone I- an idea I found at No Time for Flashcards.
Here’s what you’ll need: a few pieces of construction paper, a large I, crayons and glue.
I drew some diamonds on the I to make it look like the cone and then Hailey colored it.
Cut out the ice cream.
Color the ice cream.
Glue everything together.
The finished Ice Cream Cone I.
