Welcome to my Party!

Filed in Crafty News

I’m so glad you are here, checking out my blog!

Here’s a little bit about me:

I have a few other blogs already, but I decided to start another so that I would have a place to keep track of of the fun and crafty things I do with Hailey, my 19 month old daughter.  In addition to that I blog about the crafty things that I do. Although that doesn’t happen very often.  But, I do love to scrapbook and cross stitch and when I do occasionally have time to work on those things I am going to blog about them.  I also use this blog to keep track of my recipes. Cooking is not exactly my strong point but I am working on that.

I’ve been blogging here at Our Crafts ~N~ Things for a couple of months but I haven’t told very many people about this blog yet.  So, I hope you’ll look around for a few minutes while you’re here.  Maybe you’ll like what you see and want to come back from time to time!

You can check out the other moms who are partying with me right here.  Happy blog party!

The Letter C

At the beginning of April I started teaching Hailey her letters.  I pick one letter and concentrate on that letter for two weeks.  I do different activities with her about that letter during those two weeks.  Last week I started concentrating on the letter C.

For each letter we use Hailey’s toys to make the letter that I am teaching her.  Then I take pictures and print out a few of them.  I am using the ones I print out to create an ABC book.  Since we’ve only done A-C that is all of the pages we have right now.  I will continue to add letters to the book as I introduce them to Hailey.

At first I was going to use contact paper on each page, but that uses up an awful lot of contact paper.  So, I’m putting the pages into page protectors instead.  I put a piece of tape across the top of the page protector so that Hailey can’t pull the pages out.  We’ll see how well that works.  Then I’m using those metal rings to hold it all together.  I’ll post pictures of the actual book later.

There's Gonna Be A Party

Filed in Crafty News

I haven’t really told very many people about this blog yet and I’ve decided it’s time to get it out there.  I have been getting a few hits from some search engines but it feels a bit lonely over here without any regular visitors or comments.  So, I’m going to join the MommyFest Blog party and try to meet some new moms!  WooHoo!  It’s going to be from May 12-16 and you can get all of the details right here.

Ham and Swiss Casserole

Filed in Ham

saturdaystirrings.jpgI am always looking for some new tasty recipes, so I have decided to join Saturday Stirrings hosted by Dee Dee at It Could’ Been Worse.  I can’t wait to see the deliciousness that everyone else is cooking up this week.  So, here is my recipe- it’s quick, easy and very yummy.

Ham and Swiss Casserole

Prep time  15 Min
Cooking time  40 Min
Servings 6-8

INGREDIENTS
1 (8 ounce) package medium noodles, cooked and drained
2 cups cubed fully cooked ham
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of celery soup, undiluted
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped onion

DIRECTIONS
In a greased 13-in. x 9-in. 2-in. baking dish, layer half of the noodles, ham and cheese. In a small bowl, combine soup, sour cream, green pepper and onion; spread half over the top. Repeat layers. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 40-45 minutes or until heated through.

When I make it I usually use Cheddar cheese instead of Swiss cheese just because that’s what we like.  This also freezes well, so you can double the recipe to freeze for a future meal.
