The Itsy Bitsy Spider

Hailey loves “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” song so I thought I would do an easy project with her to make our own fun spider.

Here’s what you’ll need: Playdough and pipe cleaners.  We used pink because that is Haileys favorite color.  And also to keep our spider looking fun instead of scary.

Cut up the pipe cleaner into eight pieces to be used as legs.

We made our spider and then sang “The Itsy Bitsy Spider.”  This is Hailey doing the hand motions for the “down came the rain” line.

And then Hailey decided she didn’t like the spider anymore, so she pulled all of the legs off.

Just in case you need the lyrics here they are:

The itsy bitsy spider
Climbed up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out
Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain
And the itsy bitsy spider
Climbed up the spout again.

And if you need the tune- check that out here.

Fun Fall Activities

With fall on it’s way (only a month away!) I thought I’d review some of the fall crafts we have done.

We collected some pine cones and leaves outside and then used them to paint with.

We also put some of the leaves onto contact paper and saved them.

Hailey painted a paper plate orange and then added black triangles to make a pumpkin face.

We cut open a pumpkin for Hailey to explore the inside of it.  Then she dipped the pumpkin in paint and made pumpkin prints.

Hailey made this fall tree.

She also made this acorn.

For more fall ideas you can click here for all of the fall activities we did last year.

Here are the crafts we did to reinforce the lessons that went with the Story of Creation:

Day 1- God created day and night.

Day 2- God created sky and water.

Day 3- God created the land with grass, trees and flowers.

Day 4- God created the sun, moon and stars.

Day 5- God created fish and birds.

Day 6- God created animals and people.

Day 7- God rested.

You can see all of the activities we did for the story of creation as well as the directions for these crafts here.

Caterpillars and Butterflies

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Here is a cute caterpillar made with an egg carton.

We made a butterfly sun catcher.

We made butterflies out of coffee filters.

That is just a quick sampling of what we did- you can find lots more butterfly and caterpillar activities here.
