Horse Craft
A couple of weeks ago Hailey came up with a bunch of topics that she wants to learn about. The first one she picked is horses and ponies. So, this week she is learning all about horses and ponies. We started out by getting all sorts of books at the library. I had a hard time coming up with art activities to do for horses… so here’s the first thing we did:
Hailey painted this page from DLTK.
Then she painted a toilet paper roll brown.
The completed horse from the side so you can see his tail.
Another view of the horse.
Then since horses eat grass- we planted some grass.
Hailey in our shed getting some dirt for our grass.
Adding just a little bit of grass seed 🙂
Day one of our grass growing experiment.
Hailey loves mazes- so I found some horse mazes for her to do.
She should definitely get some grass from all those seeds!
Cute horse, too =)
Grass seed is so much fun because it is so quick. What fun. The horse is so cute.
We love DLTK – I’ve never thought to have them paint the pages – what a good idea!
I work in a library, and I do a story time with a preschool group….I just did an activity with that group on Friday, planting grass seeds in a decorated cup. They loved it! 🙂
What a sweet horse! We just found an inexpensive day camp at a horse rescue farm for my 9-year-old daughter to attend this summer. She’s super excited! She would love to make a horse like this! Grass is great to “style” with scissors too! Stopping by from Science Sunday!
That horse will be mighty happy when all of those grass seeds grow 🙂
