Tot School- Week in Review
Jun
Hailey is 32 months old.
This week we continued learning about the ocean and what lives in the ocean. Our letter was the letter Q. Here are some pictures of the fun we had with links to the activities I have posted more detail about.
Hailey loves playing with her bubble maker. She figured out how to make all of the bubbles stack up on top of each other.
For our letter Q activity we made this Q is for Quilt.
Hailey caught several caterpillars and all of them have gone into their cocoon phase. We will have some moths hatching sometime soon so I’m hoping she’ll be able to see it happen.
Some more fun with the bubble maker.
Hailey practiced her cutting. She does very well!
Hailey had fun making this shark.
This Rainbow Fish turned out really pretty.
We finished up our week by making this whale.
Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other tots did this week.
It's a Whale of a Tale
Jun
As we continue along in our ocean theme we decided to make a whale today. It was a very, very simple project that only took a few minutes to do.
Here’s what you’ll need: blue construction paper, another shade of blue construction paper cut to be the water, whale shape on gray construction paper, wiggly eye, glue and glitter.
Glue the whale onto the blue construction paper. Then add the water and the wiggly eye.
Put some glue on to outline the ocean water and to create the water spouting up from the blowhole. Then sprinkle some glitter on.
The finished whale.
Rainbow Fish
Jun
We made an easy rainbow fish that turned out really pretty.
Here’s what you’ll need: construction paper with a fish shape cut out of the middle of it, strips of tissue paper, glue and a wiggly eye.
Put glue all over the back of the construction paper.
Then add strips of tissue paper to cover the entire fish cut out. I only had to show Hailey one time that the strips needed to be put on vertically and she did the rest.
Add a few pieces of tissue paper for a tail.
The finished rainbow fish.
Shark Craft
Jun
This shark craft doesn’t take very long to do- it took a while to draw the shark (Thanks Mom!) but actually doing the project only took a few minutes.
Here’s what you’ll need: blue construction paper, shark drawing cut out, wiggly eye, 2 small black ovals, several small white triangles and glue.
Glue the shark onto the blue construction paper.
Glue the 2 black ovals on for the sharks nose and add a wiggly eye. Then put several white triangles in his mouth for the teeth. Talk about the shapes and colors of the items your child is gluing on.
Hailey’s finished shark.
