Happy Valentine’s Day

Feb

One last idea for a Valentine’s Day activity.

Hailey made this Valentine’s Day card.  First I wrote I Love U! on a piece of card stock using white crayon.  You need to push really hard when you’re writing it.  Then Hailey painted the paper using water colors.  Once it was dry we glued it onto construction paper and made it into a card.

If you’re looking for anymore idea you can see all of my Valentine’s Day ideas posts here.

Heart Flower Bouquet

Hailey made a cute heart bouquet for Valentine’s Day.

She glued everything together.

The cute Heart Flower Bouquet.

The  next two things we did were from a Valentine’s Day Unit at Musings of Me.

Hailey worked on patterning.

And then she practiced counting and number recognition with “How many kisses does the Valentine bear get?”

Valentine’s Day Monster Craft

This a cute craft for Valentine’s Day- Hailey thought it looked like Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc, except that it’s a heart.

Hailey cut out one medium sized heart.

Then cut out 4 smaller hearts.

She glued everything together- we used pipe cleaner for the arms and legs.

The completed Monster Heart.
(We probably should have glued it onto something besides red as the pink heart is a little bit hard to see.)

Hailey did a heart sorting activity- she had to put the hearts in order of size.  Then we talked about small, medium and large.  I found this printable at Confessions of a Homeschooler.

I also found this on Confessions of a Homeschooler.  Hailey had to count how many hearts there were and then put the correct number in the square.

Love Bug Craft

Hailey made a really cute Love Bug for a fun Valentine’s Day craft.

She cut out several hearts in pink and red paper.

Then she made a pattern and glued them onto purple construction paper.

Hailey’s finished love bug- cute and great pattern practice!

Hailey did this Cupid Clothespin Match- she loved it!  I got this printable from Itsy Bitsy Learners.  Hailey had to match the numbers on the clothespins with the numbers on the circle.  Not only was this great practice for recognizing numbers, it was also good for strengthening her fingers.

Then Hailey colored this match the picture paper.  This printable and the next one are from Musings of Me Valentine’s Day Unit.

Hailey loves practicing writing her letters and she wrote several words related to Valentine’s Day and worked on recognizing lowercase letters.
