Letter of the Week- Letter G
Jan
Hailey is finally healthy enough to do some activities so we are finally back! Hopefully we’ll be back to stay this time- no more getting sick.
I am going to be doing things a little bit differently though. In the past I was trying to do way too many things with Hailey in one week. We did a letter project almost every day as well as a project relating to our theme, a number, shape and color activity, a Bible story activity, and more. It was getting to be too much for me to plan and get everything together. So, we will be doing less art activities than we were doing before.
So, getting back into our letter each week- this week is the letter G. I got this idea from No Time for Flashcards (I get almost all of my letter of the week activities from Allie- she has such cute ideas and Hailey always loves them).
Here’s what we made:

You’ll need: green paper with the letter G on it, gold (yellow) paper, glittery paint, and something to paint with.

Hailey loved painting the G. I told her that we used Green paper because green starts with G and that we used Glitter paint because that starts with G.

The completed Glittery G.
Letter of the Week- Letter F
Nov
Last week our letter was F. Here are the activities we did for the letter F.

Hailey used a paint roller to paint the letter F. Later I cut it out and glued it onto construction paper and posted it on our refrigerator. Each week she does one of these for our letter of the week and we always use something different to decorate the letters (colored pencils, markers, water colors, finger paints, etc.)

Then Hailey got check out some feathers. She had never touched feathers before so she was pretty interested in them.

Then we glued the feathers onto the letter F.

Our finished Feather F.
Then we made a fish- we used triangles to make the fish since our shape was the triangle.

Hailey added some glue to the triangles.

The finished triangle fish.
Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other moms did last week to keep their tots busy. Don’t forget to stop back to see what else we did last week- we did some more fall activities, some activities for our number (4), color (orange) and shape (triangle) as well some activities while learning about Noah.
Please also take a second to stop by the Velveeta Casserole Challenge and vote for me (I’m the one on the right- Livin’ With Me and the Meat Lovers Pizza Casserole). You can vote once each day and I’d appreciate it so very much if you’d vote for me. Thanks!
Letter of the Week- Letter E
Oct
Our letter of the week last week was the letter E.

We started out our week with our usual letter paper to decorate. This week Hailey simply colored the letter E with crayons. Later I cut it out and glued it onto construction paper and posted it on our refrigerator. Each week she does one of these for our letter of the week and we always use something different to decorate the letters (colored pencils, markers, water colors, finger paints, etc.)
Then we made this Letter E Elephant, an idea I found at No Time for Flashcards.

Here’s what you’ll need: a large E, an extra piece of construction paper in the same color as your E to make a trunk and an ear for the elephant, something to decorate your E with (we used the dobbers), glue and another piece of construction paper in a different color.

Decorate the E, the trunk and ear.

The finished letter E Elephant.
Then we made this Elmo:

Here’s what you’ll need: An Elmo template printed on card stock, toilet paper roll, red paint, and something to paint with.

Paint the toilet paper roll and the Elmo template red.
Once it’s dry cut out the Elmo pieces and glue them onto the toilet paper roll.

The finished Elmo.
Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other moms are doing to keep their tots busy. Don’t forget to check back here everyday as I will post about our fall activities, our color and shape activities and our Bible activities.
Letter of the Week- Review A-D
Oct
Last week was a review week for us and we reviewed the letters A, B, C and D.

Each day we did one of these to review a letter. I saved the letters from a project we did during the week when Hailey first learned the letter. And I printed out pictures and words that started with that particular letter.

My mom bought these fun letter shaped cookie cutters for Hailey. So, we used them for several projects. For this one- we used the letters, paint and paper.

Hailey dipped the letters into the paint and then stamped them onto the paper. (And also ate some, as you can see from the green around her mouth.)

We used the cookie cutters to cut out playdough.

And then, of course, we made cookies. Hailey is dumping the sugar into our bowl.

And sampling some of the cookie dough (I only let her do this BEFORE I added the eggs. Do not let your child sample cookie dough with raw eggs in it.)

Be sure to come back everyday when I will post our activities about our theme this month (fall), our color, shape and number (orange, triangles and 3) and our Bible theme (Noah).
Check out 1+1+1=1 for more Tot School ideas.
