Tot School

Hunter is 15 1/2 months old

It was a busy week at Tot School last week.  The week started with the stomach bug for Hunter, add some yucky stress and worry about other stuff, preparations for Easter, then the week ended with the stomach bug for Hailey.  It was not a week I want to repeat.  But we did manage to get some Tot School done.  Our theme for the week was Easter.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Our mall has this little soft play area that Hunter enjoys playing in.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

We had to go to the mall a couple of times last week, so Hunter had a lot of fun playing in the play area!

Hunter loved playing with the plastic Easter eggs.  He would put them in the egg carton…

…dump them out and repeat.

Hunter loves water play, so he had a great time playing with his eggs in the water.  It’s really not that messy if you only use a small amount of water and most kids love it.  This kept his attention for a long time!

We put some macaroni into a couple of the eggs and then I taped them shut.

Hunter loved shaking his noisy eggs.

Rolling the eggs down the ramp.

Of course we dyed Easter eggs, which Hunter really loved!

And then he squished his egg apart.

He also made the Empty Tomb.  (See full post here.)

Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other tots were up to this week.

I just started a Facebook and a Pinterest page, so be sure to stop by and follow me so you don’t miss any of our fun actvities.

In celebration of Easter, here is the activity we did today:

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

You’ll need:  construction paper for the background, a tree, grass, tomb, stone to roll away, black circle, glue and something to put on your tree.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey adding some grass while I read the story of Easter.

Hunter colored his paper first and then I helped him put it together.  He added the flowers to the tree.

The Little Chick

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

To make your cute little chick, you will need: construction paper in colors of your choice, some pretty Easter scrapbook paper, black marker, scissors and glue.

First I cut out an oval shape from the yellow construction paper to represent our chick.  Then I cut out another oval, just a little bit bigger than the size of the chick to represent a cracking egg.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey glued on her chick and the cracking egg, then she added eyes.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

She added a beak and then some decorative eggs around the bottom of the paper.

Chalk Art Easter Eggs

I was looking some fun new ways to decorate some Easter Eggs when I saw this on Pinterest, so I decided we should give it a try.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

First Hunter put some painter’s tape onto a piece of card stock.

Hailey added some painter’s tape to hers too.

Then using wet chalk, Hailey colored in her egg.

Hunter worked on coloring his too.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

After a bit of help, this was Hunter’s egg all colored in.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

We took the tape off and cut out the egg… and this is Hunter’s completed egg.

I love how using the wet chalk makes the colors look so bright and bold!
