Toddler Rules

I’m starting Tot School with Hunter this week, so I needed remind myself of these Toddler Rules… I think this is so cute and so very accurate!

If it’s on, I must turn it off.
If it’s off, I must turn it on.
If it’s folded, I must unfold it.
If it’s high, it must be reached.
If it’s shelved, it must be unshelved.
If it’s pointed, it must be fun to play with at top speed.
If it has leaves, they must be picked.
If it’s plugged, it must be unplugged.
If it’s not trash, it must be thrown away.
If it’s in the trash, it must be removed, inspected, and thrown on the floor.
If it’s closed, it must be opened.
If it doesn’t open, it must be screamed at.
If it has drawers, they must be rifled.
If it’s a pencil, it must write on the refrigerator, computer monitor, or table.
If it’s full, it will be more interesting emptied.
If it’s empty, it will be more interesting full.
If it’s a pile of dirt, it must be laid upon.
If it’s a stroller, it must under no circumstances be ridden in without protest and must be pushed by me instead.
If it has a flat surface, it must be banged upon.
If Mommy’s hands are full, I must be carried.
If Mommy is in a hurry and wants to carry me, I must walk alone.
If it’s paper, it must be torn.
If it has buttons, they must be pressed.
If the volume is low, it must go high.
If it’s your toothbrush, it must be inserted into my mouth.
If it’s my toothbrush, it must be inserted into your mouth.
If it has a faucet, it must be turned on at full force.
If it’s a phone, I must talk into it, unless there is someone on the other end.
If it’s a bug, it must be swallowed.
If it’s not food, it must be tasted.
If it’s food, it must not be tasted.
If it has a tail, I must yank it.
If Mommy wants me to come, I must run away.
If Mommy wants me to go away, I must cling on for dear life.
If it’s sticky, it must go in my hair.
If it’s bath time, I must run around naked until I’m caught.

Summer Plans

Summer vacation has officially started and Hailey has plans of keeping busy by doing school work all summer.  So, to keep her busy and happy I have made some plans for this summer.  Today was our first day- and while she wants to work all day long, I told her we would do school work in the morning and she would spend the afternoon playing and relaxing.

Here are a couple of things we did today:

Since I do not have a place to put a word wall, we made a word folder.  We have sight words, color words, number words and days of the week in here.  We’ll be adding more sight words throughout the summer.

We also made a schedule today of what we will do each morning.  For art time Hailey drew pictures to go with our schedule.

For the most part I will just be posting the different art activities that we do.  Since Hailey is home and I actually have someone to do crafts with hopefully I’ll be posting more than once a week!

Trying to Come Back

I have not dropped off the face of the earth 🙂  I am trying to come back and start posting regularly again.  In my crazy mind I thought I would be doing fun crafts and activities with Hailey while the new baby (Hunter) happily cooed and watched.  BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

What really happened- Hunter was born, I had shingles, Hailey and Rich had the stomach bug, Christmas came, I got a staph infection, it went away, then it came back again… so you see it was a little crazy.  Once the craziness settled down I found out that Hunter was going to be a colicky baby.  I have had to pretty much hold him all the time and even then the screaming has been pretty unbearable.  But, it seems that around 3 1/2 months the colickyness is over.  I hope!!

So, I am trying to get back to my regular posting 🙂

Kinda Busy

It’s been a busy Christmas season for us so far!  I’m going to be having a baby tomorrow so I know things aren’t going to slow down for a while.  Since it’s quite unlikely that I’ll be posting before Christmas here is a link to the Christmas activities we did in past years: Christmas Fun

I do have one Christmas idea I want to do with the baby, so if it works out I’ll try to post a picture of it when it’s done.
