Tot School
Apr
Hunter is 15 1/2 months old.
I’m a little late in getting my Tot School post up… we were out of town all weekend for my cousin’s wedding (it was beautiful!) and since we have been home my blog has not been loading, or has been loading so slow that I couldn’t actually do anything. So, hopefully it’s working now.
Our theme this week was yellow.
Hunter checking out his new yellow sensory bin.
He read his book about colors.
Hailey helped Hunter make a Yellow Sunshine suncatcher for our color window.

Hunter also played with yellow play-doh. I had hoped if he had his pacifier in his mouth that he would not try to eat the play-doh… but he still ate it. So maybe we will wait a while before we do play-doh again.
He colored with a yellow crayon.
Hunter also made a rainstick (see the full post here).
Stop by 1+1+1=1 to see what the other tots were up to this week.
I just started a Facebook and a Pinterest page, so be sure to stop by and follow me so you don’t miss any of our fun actvities.
Spring Painting
Apr
I saw this super cute painting on Pinterest and I knew I wanted to do it with Hailey!
First Hailey drew a spring picture using oil pastels.
I told her to purposely not fill every spot in, to leave some white spots.
When she was done she painted over it using water colors. The oil pastels resist the water and it turns out so pretty!
Hailey’s finished spring picture.
I had to make one too 🙂
Rainsticks
Apr
Since spring is here (on the calendar anyway) we made some rainsticks today. I figured if it’s going to rain we might as well make a craft about it. And really, I would take the rain over the snow!
Hailey and Hunter decorated paper towel tubes with stickers.
I cut out circles from construction paper to put over the ends. We covered one end with the paper, secured it with a rubber band and then wrapped yarn around it to cover up the rubber band. Then we put cheerios inside the tube and covered the other end.

Recycled Materials Flower Art
Apr
Hailey had an assignment for her Girl Scout troop to create something using recycled materials. This is what we came up with: (idea from Pinterest)
Here’s what you’ll need: egg carton, cardboard (we used a Lego Friends box from a set that the Easter Bunny brought Hailey in her basket) and some paint.
Hailey painted the egg carton various colors to create a flower.
Once she was done painting we glued everything together. I used a hot glue gun because with the shape of the egg carton, I didn’t think regular glue would hold.
It turned out cute 🙂
