With a Moo Moo Here…

Today we made a cute cow to add to our farm theme for the week.

I found this cow head template and had Hailey color it.

Then she painted 4 clothespins brown.

I cut the bottom off of an orange juice carton and we wrapped it in white paper.

Hailey taped the head on.

Then she added some spots.

She added a pipe cleaner for a tail.

Once the clothespins were dry she added them to the box.

The finished cow.

The Farm

We decided to make a little farm to go along with our farm theme this week.

I took several containers of playdough and spread them out on a tray.  The one green doesn’t quite match the others… so let’s just pretend the grass on the farm isn’t quite perfect.  And Hailey decided the farm needed a little pond- so we added some blue.

We made a fence using little popsicle sticks and stuck them together using playdough.  Then we added some farm animals.

Hailey played with this for a looooong time!

Cute, Messy, Muddy Pig

Our theme for this week is farm animals and today we made a cute little pig.

I had a cute pig printable in one of my Mailbox magazines that I used, but you can use any pig printable you can find and just copy it onto pink paper.  Hailey glued the pig to a piece of construction paper.

Then she mixed equal parts of shaving cream and glue.

Then we added some brown paint to make it look like mud.  (It actually looked kind of like chocolate moose and looked pretty tasty although it smelled like shaving cream so I wasn’t tempted to eat it.)

Hailey added the mud to the pig.

The finished pig- the paint dried puffy.

Fluffy Little Chick

This week our theme is going to be Farm Animals.  Today we made a cute little chick.

First I put some yellow paint in a bag and added some cotton balls.  Hailey shook the bag to spread the paint around.

Then she squished and squeezed to make sure the paint was spread.

Hailey taped orange pipe cleaners on the back of a yellow oval.

Then she put glue all over the front of the oval.

Hailey put her yellow cotton on the oval.

Then she added some eyes

and a beak.

The finished fluffy little chick.
