Tot School- Week in Review

Hailey is 31 months old.

Tot School

We are staying with my parents right now until it is time for the closing on our new house (we are hoping it will be this week or early next week).  While we are here I don’t have to worry about packing or unpacking.  So, we finally have time to do some Tot School activities again.  Here is a review of what we did last week with links to the activities I posted about.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Our letter of the week was the letter M.  We made this Mountain M.

When Hailey made her Mother’s Day cards for her grandmothers she decided she wanted to draw pictures of everyone.  Here is picture of how her people turned out when she drew Gramma and Pa.  Both of them have a head, 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 eyes, a nose and a mouth.  I thought they turned out pretty good for her first attempt at drawing people.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey had fun just exploring and watching the colors mix together and change.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Our theme for the week was dinosaurs.  We made this fun dinosour bones picture.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey enjoyed playing with these dinosaur bones.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey decorated a dinosaur and then we wrote a story about her dinosaur, Haily-o-saurus.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey loved this mat and played with her dinosaurs on it.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey really enjoyed making some dinosaur fossils.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

This was the first time I have ever done a worksheet like this with Hailey.  I think she’s ready to start working on following directions and coloring in the lines, rather than just free coloring all of the time.  She did really well following directions and seemed to enjoy coloring the dinosaur foot prints.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

We practiced shapes, colors and counting by making this shape dinosaur.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Hailey found some foam dinosaurs in my box of dinosaur related materials and wanted to glue them onto some paper.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Lastly Hailey did some practice cutting.

It was a great week!  It was nice to get back into doing Tot School after taking a break to move.  Check out 1+1+1=1 to see what the other tots did last week.

Great activities! I was wondering if you made the “mixing colors” see-through toy (3rd photo) or you bought it. It looks neat. I’ve been doing color exploration with my 3 year old. We used clear cups filled with water and used primary food colors to change the color of the water. Then we mixed the primary colors to make secondary colors. She LOVED this because she LOVES water. We had read the book “Mouse Paint” so it was a fun activity to do after that story. Keep up the great job with Hailey!

Where did you find that dinosaur footprint coloring page? I have searched and can’t find it. Is it from a book?
    Thanks so much:)!
