Bumble Bee
Hailey made this adorable bumble bee at VBS and I just had to share it!

Spotted Butterfly
Hailey made this very simple butterfly and it came out cute.
She painted circles onto a butterfly shape.
Then we used a hole puncher to punch out different colored circles. She added those to the butterfly and then added some antenna. (She mixed glue into the paint so that the little circles would stick.)

Watermelon Napkin Holder
We made this cute napkin holder that looks like a watermelon. It’s perfect for summer picnics!
Paint the inside circle of a paper plate red.
Once the red is dry, paint the outside circle green.
Use a Q-tip to add black dots (seeds) to the red.
Once it dries, fold the paper plate in half.
Then fold the corners in, as pictured, and glue them shut. I used a clothespin to hold the edges closed while the glue dried.
Cut a slit in the watermelon.
Completed napkin holder.

Leaves
Last week for science I told Hailey she could pick anything she wanted to learn about. I gave her this worksheet I found and she went outside to find something to pick for science.
She decided to pick a leaf.
Hailey filled out this Observing Nature worksheet about her leaf.
Page 2 of the worksheet.
We also had an Observe a Leaf worksheet which Hailey filled out and then did a leaf rubbing.
Hailey had to answer several questions about her leaf, including how many inches long it was.
We also talked about the different parts of a leaf and started a science journal so she can keep track of what she does this summer for science.
