Bee Crafty Kids- Nativity
Dec
Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back and Look! We’re Learning.
We are working on a Christmas scene as we spend the month of December learning all about Christmas. We have not finished it yet as we will continue adding to it all month, but I wanted to share what we have done so far.
First, Hailey and Hunter added a barn to a black piece of paper.
Hailey added just a few stars to the night sky. Then Hailey and Hunter each made a sheep.
The next day Hunter added a cow.
Hailey added a donkey.
This is our nativity scene so far… we will keep adding as the month goes on.

Pilgrim Craft
Nov
As we finished up our Thanksgiving unit, we made some adorable Pilgrims.
Hailey and Hunter worked hard creating their Pilgrims.
Hailey adding an apron to her Pilgrim girl.
Hunter got a little distracted by the book basket and stopped to read a book.
When Hunter’s Pilgrim was finished, he decided to dance with him.
Hailey’s finished Pilgrim Girl.
Hunter’s finished Pilgrim Boy.
The finished Pilgrims. Hailey did a little paper and wrote what she would do if she were a Pilgrim Girl. She wrote, “I would do my chores without complaining and I would try to play with my dolls.”

Poppins Book Nook- Animal Theme
Nov
The theme for this months Poppins Book Nook was animals. Since we were learning about Thanksgiving this month, I decided to go with a turkey for our animal.
We used a few different books to go with our theme. We read “A Turkey for Thanksgiving” by Eve Bunting, which is a super cute story! Then we read 2 non-fiction books- “All About Turkeys” by Jim Arnosky and “Turkeys that Fly and Turkeys That Don’t” by Allen Fowler. We learned so much from those 2 books!
As we read the non-fiction books about turkeys, we added feathers to this turkey. Each feather has an interesting fact about turkeys.
I had Hailey write in her journal pretending to be a turkey and giving reasons why she should not be eaten for Thanksgiving dinner.
We also made some turkey crafts, you can see the full post here. These are the cute hats we made.
Hailey made this turkey with a cute poem on it.

Each month you will have a chance to win a book from the Poppins Book Nook group related to the theme of the month. This month you have a chance to win National Geographic Animal Encyclopedia. The only rule is that you must live in the US to win.

Bee Crafty Kids- The Mayflower
Nov
Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back and Look! We’re Learning.
We have been learning all about Thanksgiving this month, and having lots of fun! This week we focused on the Pilgrims and what it was like on the Mayflower. Then we made our own Mayflower.
Hunter and Hailey painted a box brown. We actually ran out of brown paint, so we had a little mini-lesson on which colors you can mix together to get brown.
The next day, Hailey added some windows.
Hailey made a sign and we added some sails.
Hunter and Hailey both enjoy sitting in the Mayflower 🙂
