Collage Shamrock

14
Mar

Since Saint Patrick’s Day is only a few days away and because Hunter is learning the color green, I thought it would be fun to make a shamrock using all different green collage materials.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

First I gathered our supplies- glue, shamrock shaped paper and all the green things I could find.

Next they used the do-a-dot markers to decorate the shamrock.

Add on some green collage materials.  Hunter loved this!  I put the glue on his shamrock and then he put the pieces on.  He kept picking them up and moving them around.  This kept his attention for quite a while.

Hailey worked for a long time on hers too, she had to position everything just right.

End of the Rainbow

Hailey has been really sick with the flu this week 🙁  She is on day 5 of a fever and a horrible cough.  Yesterday when she was feeling good for a little while she said she wanted to do a craft, so we decided to do this pretty simple one.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

You will need clear contact paper, some sparkly yellow glitter glue, white paper, black paper, tissue paper in red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple.  (And you may need some yellow paper too if your glitter glue turns out like ours did.)

I cut the contact paper in an arc shape, big enough for the rainbow and for a pot of gold and cloud to fit at the ends of the rainbow.

Hailey put little gold circles on the top of pot to represent the gold.

She put the pot of gold on the contact paper and then started the rainbow.

Adding some more ripped up tissue paper.

So we added some yellow paper coins instead.

You will need some yellow paint, glitter, paper plate, round object to paint with, black and green construction paper.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Mix the glitter and paint together.  Spread it out nice and thin.

Cut out a black pot, glue it on the paper and then stamp some shiny gold coins in your pot.

Hailey has been really sick, but fortunately she was able to join us for a little while to make one too.

I think he had fun… I also think he ate some 🙂

Shamrock Suncatcher

It’s been another week of sickness at our house 🙁  Hunter had a fever and runny nose and just felt awful, but he is finally feeling better today, so we did our first craft of the week.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

I put contact paper, sticky side up, on the table and then taped it down.  I gave Hunter green tissue paper to put on the contact paper.  (I drew a shamrock shape ahead of time to make it a little easier.)

Hailey is sick today, she woke up not feeling well with a fever and a cough, but her Motrin had kicked in just in time to help Hunter fill up his shamrock.

Once the shamrock was covered up with tissue paper I put contact paper on the other side of the tissue paper and cut it out.

Hunter loves looking at it on our sliding glass doors.  In fact, that’s what he is doing right now while I’m posting this 🙂
