Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom Tree
June 4th, 2010

One of Hailey’s favorite alphabet books is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr.  So I had this fabulous idea that we would make a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree in Hailey’s playroom and add the letters to the tree as we learn each letter.  But then I remembered that I am not very artistic and so I asked my mom for some help.

And look at the cute Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree she made for Hailey!  I printed the letters for the tree using a download I found on Confessions of a Homeschooler.

Letter of the Week- Letter K
June 1st, 2010

Last week our letter of the week was K.

I found tons of great downloads on Confessions of a Homeschooler- there is one of these for every letter and since Hailey loves using her Do-a-Dot Markers I thought we should give this a try for the letter K.

Hailey decorated the Letter K template using tissue paper.

For our Alphabet book Hailey made a kite.

The completed K is for Kite page for Hailey’s book.

Letter of the Week- Letter J
May 24th, 2010

We started out our letter by decorating the letter J template.

Then Hailey worked on a project for her alphabet book using an idea I saw at Homeschool Creations.  You’ll need some various shapes and decorating materials.

J is for Jack-in-the-box.

Then Hailey practiced writing the letter J on her wipe off cards.

Letter of the Week- Letter I
May 17th, 2010

For the letter I, Hailey did decorate the usual letter template, but I must have forgotten to take a picture of it.  So, here is a link to it just in case you need to print it- Letter I.

For our alphabet book, Hailey made an igloo that I saw over at Homeschool Creations.  She glued a bunch of rectangles onto her paper and then painted some snow onto the bottom.

Ii is for Igloo.
