July 4th Utensil Holder
Jul
This fun craft is a perfect decoration for your 4th of July picnic!
You will need 3 empty containers, I used the 1/2 gallon cardboard containers of juice. We don’t usually drink those, but they were on sale for $1, so they were perfect. You also need red, white and blue paint, something to put the paint in and something to paint with, craft sticks, star shaped sponge and some glue.
Hailey and Hunter painted the craft sticks red, white and blue.
Once the paint is dry, glue your craft sticks to the cardboard container. I used Mod Podge glue. (I did this step myself.)
Hailey added some white star shapes, using the sponge on the blue sections.
The finished utensil holders.
We had our family 4th of July celebration over the weekend, so we got to try them out 🙂

Fireworks Craft
Jun
This was one of those activities that is more about the process than the end product. It wasn’t one of those crafts that turns out super cute, but Hailey had a lot of fun doing it… and Hunter had a lot of fun thinking he was doing it.
You will need- 3 spray bottles- there is watered down paint in each bottle- red, white and blue. You’ll also need black construction paper and tape.
I set this up on our deck- I taped up the paper and put an old towel down underneath it.
Then Hailey had a great time spraying the paper. The idea was for it to look like fireworks.
Hunter thought he was doing it too, but the top was still on the spray bottle.
It was fun, a bit messy and doesn’t really look like fireworks at all 🙂

Volcano Eruption
May
We have been learning about dinosaurs, which sparked an interest in volcanos, so we have had some fun doing some things with volcanos. We made this fun craft:
Spread some yellow, orange and red paint onto a volcano shaped paper.
Cover it with saran wrap, and then let your child spread the paint around.
No mess 🙂
Glue a mountain onto a piece of construction paper.
Add your volcano
Completed erupting volcanos.

Tot School
May
Hunter is 17 months old.
We had a super fun week at Tot School this week!! We were busy learning about dinosaurs and the color orange.
We had an orange day, Hunter loved wearing his hat. Our weather has been so crazy!! We had some days that were hot enough to need air conditioning. Then we had days so cold that some places in our area saw snow. Obviously, this was taken on one of the cold days.
Hunter thought this little dinosaur mat was pretty fun. He has loved playing with the dinosaurs!
Of course, he had to go and line up the dinosaurs with his cars.
Hunter growls every time he sees this dinosaur poster, although he says “tweet, tweet” for the pterodactyl.
Hailey read Hunter some books about dinosaurs. This is one of my favorite things to see- Hailey reading to Hunter!
Hunter and Hailey loved playing in our little dinosaur land.
Hailey made this volcano and we set it off several times. So much fun!!
Hunter painted some orange dinosaur footprints. He loves to paint!! Anytime he sees me get the paint out he starts saying, “More, more!”
We made some fun dinosaur fossils. Hunter always paints very carefully.
We also made some dinosaur bones.
Hailey made a huge bowl of bubbles.
Hunter thought the bowl of bubbles was great!
