Tot School
Jun
Hunter is 18 months old.
Last week our focus for Tot School was on the color blue and the 4th of July.
Hunter made a blue sun catcher to add to our window of sun catchers.
Hunter pointing out the color blue.
Coloring with a blue marker (and possibly tasting it too).
Hunter loves the do-a-dot markers!
We made a red, white and blue discovery bottle.
Hunter enjoyed playing with it for a few minutes. Then he handed it to me and didn’t want it anymore.
Blue sensory bin
Hunter thought he was helping Hailey make these Fireworks, but the top was really on the spray bottle 😉
Hunter enjoyed making a Fourth of July Star Wand.

Fireworks Craft
Jun
This was one of those activities that is more about the process than the end product. It wasn’t one of those crafts that turns out super cute, but Hailey had a lot of fun doing it… and Hunter had a lot of fun thinking he was doing it.
You will need- 3 spray bottles- there is watered down paint in each bottle- red, white and blue. You’ll also need black construction paper and tape.
I set this up on our deck- I taped up the paper and put an old towel down underneath it.
Then Hailey had a great time spraying the paper. The idea was for it to look like fireworks.
Hunter thought he was doing it too, but the top was still on the spray bottle.
It was fun, a bit messy and doesn’t really look like fireworks at all 🙂

Fourth of July Star Wand
Jun
We made these simple star wands today:
Here is all you will need: Popsicle stick, glue, red, white and blue star shaped construction paper, red and blue ribbon
Glue the white star onto the red star.
Then put the blue star on top of the white.
Glue the stars to a popsicle stick and tie the ribbon around the stick.
Our finished star wands- easy and cute.

Fourth of July Flag Craft
Jul
Hailey has been busy learning about the 4th of July… here is another craft she did.
Paint 5 popsicle sticks red and paint 4 popsicle sticks white.
Cut a piece of blue construction paper and add stars to it. Hailey made sure that she had exactly 50 stars.
Glue the red and white popsicle sticks onto 2 popsicle sticks.
Hailey posing with her finished flag.
We talked about what the flag represents and what it means when we say the Pledge of Allegiance.
