Q-Tip Skeleton
Nov
I saw this Q-Tip Skeleton idea in one of my Mailbox magazines and I thought it was so cute!
Here’s what you’ll need: black construction paper, glue, Q-Tips, a small cutout of your child’s face.
Glue the Q-Tips in the shape of a skeleton.
The finished skeleton.
Friendly Ghost
Nov
I got this idea for a Friendly Ghost over at Ramblings of a Crazy Woman.
You’ll need: paper plate, glue, marker, white tissue paper, construction paper.
Cut the tissue paper into strips, draw a face on the plate, cut out pieces for the hat and bow tie.
Glue the white tissue paper onto the back of the paper plate.
Glue on the hat and bow tie.
The finished friendly ghost.
Handprint Bat
Nov
Here’s what you’ll need: black and blue construction paper, scissors, glue, google eyes, scissors and a pencil.
Trace your child’s hands and cut them out. Normally I try to have Hailey do the cutting, but I knew this would only cause frustration so I did the cutting. Then glue the hands onto the blue construction paper.
Add eyes. (By the way, I have no idea why those shoes are on the table!)
The finished bat.
Spider Activities
Nov
We did several spider activities last week and I wanted to get them all posted before Halloween, so I decided to just post all of them in one post.
Spider Web:
Here’s what you’ll need- paper plate with slits cut in the sides, tape, 3 pieces of yarn about 3 feet long, and a spider.
Tape the yarn to the back of the plate and then weave the yarn in and out of the slits cut in the plate. When you get close to the end of the yarn tape it on the back of the plate and start another piece of yarn. Add the spider on to the last piece of yarn.
The finished spider web.
The Very Busy Spider:
Here’s what you’ll need: paper, gray crayon, marker, stamp pad and The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle.
Use your crayon to make a rubbing of the spider web.
Stamp your finger print onto the paper. Add some legs.
The finished spider web.
Spider Craft:
Here’s what you’ll need: black paint (or if you don’t have it- do like I did and mix some dark colors together), glue, piece of egg carton, pom pom, pipe cleaner and something to paint with.
Mix the colors together to try to make the paint look black.
Paint the egg carton cup.
Add the pipe cleaner for legs, glue on the eyes and nose.
The finished spider.
