Bee Crafty Kids- Turkey Fun

15
Nov

Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back and Look! We’re Learning.

We are learning all about Thanksgiving this month and this week we did some turkey crafts.

Turkey Fun

First up- we made turkey hats

(I have to mention that we did this on our Wacky Wednesday fun day, which I’ll be posting about later.  But, Hailey is wearing her pajamas inside out for Wacky Wednesday.  Hunter is wearing his pajamas because he insists on wearing his Lightning McQueen pajama shirt almost every day.)

Turkey Fun

We made another fun turkey, that I had made with Hailey a few years ago.  It’s amazing how much she has changed since we made turkeys a few years ago.

Hailey made a pattern with her feathers.

Hailey had written a turkey poem, so she added her poem to the front of her turkey.

Bee Crafty Kids- Fun With Spiders

08
Nov

Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back and Look! We’re Learning.

Spider Unit

We are doing a fun unit about spiders right now.  I am loving learning all about spiders, but I am pretty sure that I will always be very terrified of them.

Here are some of the fun activities we did this week with our spider unit:

Spider Unit

We used Oreo cookies, Twizzlers (the ones that you can peel), frosting and M&Ms to make a little spider snack.

Spider Unit

Here is Hailey’s completed spider.

Spider Unit

Hailey and Hunter made these cute spider hats.  Hunter wasn’t a fan of his and said, “NO spider!”  He was willing to pose for a picture, but he refused to wear it after that.

Spider Unit

Then we made another spider snack- these did not turn out exactly like I thought they would hahahaha… we used a donut, pretzels, frosting and M&Ms.

Here is Hailey’s spider

Ummmm… and Hunter’s spider

This was mine, a bit more of what I had in mind.  But, when Hailey and Hunter pushed the legs (pretzels) into the body (donut) they didn’t do it very gently, so the donuts pretty much crumbled.  They were yummy anyway :-)

Bee Crafty Kids- Spider Glyph

01
Nov

Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back and Look! We’re Learning.

We are starting a fun unit all about spiders… at least I’m hoping it will be fun.  I like making spider crafts, but when it comes to looking at real spiders it’s not quite so fun :-)

Our first spider craft was a fun spider glyph I got from Spiders: A Creepy Crawly Extravaganza.

Spider Glyph

I set up all the parts of the craft and the directions.
Some of the directions included- add a bow if you are girl, add stripes on the legs if fall is your favorite season, etc.

Spider Glyph

Hunter is happy anytime he can glue, so he had fun making his spider.

Spider Glyph

Hailey had fun creating her spider and following the directions.

Putting everything together.

Rich made one too, and when my parents came over on Halloween they each made one as well.

Fall Tree Craft

18
Oct

Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back and Look! We’re Learning.

We have been doing a mini leaf unit and have had some fun art projects along with it.  Here is one that I think turned out really cute:

Fall Tree Craft

First Hailey and Hunter glued a tree that I cut out onto some construction paper.

Then, using leaves we had just collected from our backyard, they painted leaves onto their trees.

Fall Tree Craft

They both really enjoyed painting with leaves.
