I am a teacher turned stay at home mom. I have my degree in Elementary Eduction (pre-k - 6th grade). I have worked in day care with toddlers and preschoolers, I have been the director of a child care center and I have taught pre-kindergarten. But, when my daughter Hailey was born I decided to become a stay at home mom.
Now that Hailey is old enough to really enjoy crafts and art activities I want to start keeping track of all of the fun and crafty things that we do together. That is the main focus of this blog. I am certainly not claiming to be an expert on toddler crafts or activities- I just do what is fun for us and post about it. I believe that children at the toddler and preschool level learn through play. The activities that I do with Hailey are meant to be fun for her, but at the same time she is learning something. If she is no longer having fun then we stop what we are doing. I want her to know that learning is fun and something that should be enjoyed.
In addition to posting about what Hailey and I are doing, I am will also post about the crafty things that I do. Although there won’t be much of that. I do love to scrapbook and cross stitch but I don’t have a lot of time for it. When I do occasionally have time to work on those things I am going to blog about them.
The third thing I use this blog for is a place to keep track of my recipes. Cooking is not exactly my strong point but I am working on that. It’s not so much that I don’t like to cook as it is that I don’t like to clean up the mess. I need to be more organized with my meal planning to make sure I am creating healthy meals for my family and not just something that is thrown together at the last minute.
