First Day of School

10
Sep

We’re finally back!! We got a little busy at the end of August with a 10 day trip to Disney World. When we got back from our trip I was making our final preparations for school to start, and just ran out of time for blogging.  Anyway, we started school last week- our first day was on Thursday.  Here are some pictures from our first day:

Bee Crafty Kids- Cute Scarecrow

Aug

Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back Look! We’re Learning and Monster’s Ed Homeschooling Academy.

We have been really busy this week and didn’t have time for a new craft.  So, I’m sharing an older craft with you that I think turned out super cute.

Our Crafts ~N~ Things

Here’s what you’ll need:
scrapbook paper for his shirt
construction paper for his face, his buttons, his nose and the crows
part of a cardboard box for his hat and stake (we colored the stake black)
The green stuff for the grass is actually a few pieces cut off of a cheerleading pom-pom. (Although you could just use tissue paper).
His hair is a few little pieces I took off of the top of some Indian corn.

Glue everything together.

Poppins Book Nook- Fairy Tale Theme

26
Aug

PoppinsBookNook

The theme for the Poppins Book Book this month was fairy tales, which is a perfect theme for us!  The only problem was- which book to pick!  Before we could decide on a book, we had to find out exactly what a makes a book a fairy tale.

Fariy Tale Activities

I drew this lovely castle… I thought I was doing a pretty good job drawing it, but while I was working on it Hailey said, “Are you sure you don’t want to just print one?  I don’t want you to embarrass yourself on the internet.”  She did admit I did a pretty good job once it was done though.  She colored it in after I finished drawing it.

Then we went over what makes a story a fairy tale.  Once we knew what needed to be in a book to have it be considered a fairy tale she decided she wanted to read Cinderella.

Fariy Tale Activities

Hailey did a great job reading “Cinderella” to Hunter.

Then we decided to make Cinderella’s carriage.  Hailey and Hunter painted a pumpkin blue.

Bee Crafty Kids- Acorn Craft

23
Aug

Welcome back to the Bee Crafty Kids link up that I am co-hosting with To The Moon and Back Look! We’re Learning and Monster’s Ed Homeschooling Academy.

We have been so busy all week getting ready to go on vacation that we ran out of time to do a craft.  So, I’m sharing an old one with you.  With fall right around the corner I thought it would be fun to share a fall activity.

Here is a simple and cute acorn craft:

First you’ll need to paint a brown piece of paper with a darker shade of brown.

Once the paint dries, rip apart the paper. Also, rip apart a piece of regular brown paper.

Glue the lighter colored brown paper to the top of the acorn and the brown paper that was painted to the bottom of the acorn.

The finished acorn.

Now it’s your turn! Link up and share what you and your kids have been busy making. Grab a button so others can join in the crafting fun too 🙂
