Last week we reviewed the letters A-D. Here is a look at some of the activities we did to reinforce the letters.

We used our letter cookie cutters and cut out the letters A-D.

Hailey sorted the letters A-D.

We started putting together Hailey’s book of ABC’s using the letter projects we did during the week we focused on that letter.

For each letter, Hailey glued the letter template that she has decorated onto construction paper and then put it into a page protector. Then she also added her letter project. When we finish the whole alphabet I think we’ll have a pretty cute book!

Letter of the Week- Letter C

Our letter last week was the letter C.

We colored the letter C template.

Hailey worked on making a C is for Clock that I found at Homeschool Creations.

Here is our finished Cc is for Clock. I printed the clock face from here and Hailey cut it out. We added some hands to the clock. Then we added a pendulum which is just yarn and construction paper. Then I cut out a little clock base for her to glue on.

I had a lot of other letter C activities planned for last week but time just got away from us. We had places to go almost everyday. Plus last week was Hailey’s 3rd birthday. So, we just ran out of time to get any other letter C activities done. We did manage to get some of our Fire Safety activities done, so check back to see what we did.

This week we are reviewing letters E, F, G and H. So I don’t have a new letter to share. Instead I am going to share the activities we have done for all of the letters so far. I will include links to the original posts. Many of our letter of the week crafts come from No Time for Flashcards.

Letter of the Week- Review A-D

Last week was a review week for us and we reviewed the letters A, B, C and D.

Each day we did one of these to review a letter. I saved the letters from a project we did during the week when Hailey first learned the letter. And I printed out pictures and words that started with that particular letter.

My mom bought these fun letter shaped cookie cutters for Hailey. So, we used them for several projects. For this one- we used the letters, paint and paper.

Hailey dipped the letters into the paint and then stamped them onto the paper. (And also ate some, as you can see from the green around her mouth.)

We used the cookie cutters to cut out playdough.

And then, of course, we made cookies. Hailey is dumping the sugar into our bowl.

And sampling some of the cookie dough (I only let her do this BEFORE I added the eggs. Do not let your child sample cookie dough with raw eggs in it.)

Letter of the Week- Letter C

Last week our letter that we focused on was the letter C. And we did several fun activities. Every Monday I give Hailey a paper to decorate for our letter of the week and we decorate it using different methods (colored pencils, water colors, etc). This week we used markers to color the letter C.

Here is our finished Letter C which hangs on our fridge all week.

Then we made this cute letter C.

Here’s what you’ll need: a large letter C, another piece of construction paper, cotton and glue.

Glue the cotton onto the letter C- pointing out that cotton starts with C.

We also did some of our usual letter activities. I hid felt C’s around our house for Hailey to find. I just realized we never visited Star Fall to do their letter C activities, but I will make sure we do that today.

Last but not least- our favorite activity.

Hailey helped me to make some chocolate chip cookies.

I shaped the cookies into the letter C. If you do this- be sure to leave plenty of space for your C to fill in so that you don’t end up with a blog. Also, if I did this again I would use sugar cookies instead of chocolate chip cookies because I think they would be easier to form. The chocolate chip cookie dough was really sticky to try to form into a C.
